I have been on Percoset 5mg for 5 weeks 4 per day and since Friday of last week OXY IR 5mg.  If I stop the medicine,....will i go though withdrawals?  If so , how long will they last and what can I take to help through them

You've been on the meds long enough that you'll probably need to just taper off them to avoid the more unpleasant aspects of withdrawal, like vomiting, diarrhea, RLS all over your body, insomnia.  Yeah, lots of fun - NOT!   It shouldn't take you more than a week or two at most to taper off that dose.

Your dose isn't all that high, and you haven't been on it all that long, so your withdrawal should be very minimal, hopefully just restlessness at night.  Melatonin is a good over-the-counter sleep aid to help you through the night if you need it.

Certainly talk to your doctor about tapering off the meds and call him if you experience any really bad symptoms.
