I hope you are feeling better since your last post. I had an iv insertion last week in my wrist and it hit a nerve. It feels like pins and needles to the touch
" . I was saying u hit a nerve take it out " and it felt like forever and they would not take it out right away for some reason.. I will never let anyone do that to me again and hope it's not permanent . I cut hair for a living and I will go to my primary care doctor just in case.. I pray it heals quick for both of us
Hello and Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Community. I am sorry to hear about your left hand discomfort.
I had something very similar occur when an IV was inserted into my right hand. They had a bejeebers of a time inserting it. I was left with the same sensations you describe in my right index finger. I was informed they damaged a nerve and in time it would heal on it's own. It did .... but it took several years.
I suggest you consult your PCP.... they may refer you to a neurologist. To my knowledge there is no treatment other then time. However my area of pain was much smaller then yours, so it bears a consult. I hope you will heal too.
Best of luck and please let us know what you find out.
Peace,
~Tuck
