adhesions due to dirtbike accident just now surfacing

Hello,
I have posted only once before this, and do thank tuck I think it was for the positive welcome. In a nut shell I apparently suffer from abdominal adhesions due to a dirtbike accident which occurred decades ago. I was hospitalized for about 6 nights for testing and pain management but things remain unresolved.I am going for another upper endoscopy thursday wich may shed some new light on things and my new (experienced pcp gives me at least some peace of mind). I quess I should have asked is, if anyone has or is suffering from similar symptoms.
-massive cramping which floors me
-pain shooting  or radiating from abdomen up toward my left shoulder blade
-naseau
-black stool (only last 3 days)
-needing to lay on back in office at for at least 5-10 min 4 times/day till it passes
It would be real helpful any of this sounded familiar to anyone but I also recognize that others have their own issues. I am certainly guilty of not responding because of my own needs.

Thanks,willy27

Hi Willy,

It is good to see you again. But I am sorry to hear about your pain. Welcome back.

I was already to tell you about adhesions until I read that you are having black stools. Have you called your PCP to notify him of this change? If not you should do so asap. I'm sure you are aware that black stool can be indicative of a lower GI bleed. Considering your symptoms this should be addressed immediately.

Adhesions can be very painful. They are scar tissue that forms as a result of the healing process. This tissue can bind the internals organs together, making them tight and painful with motion, or sometimes with out motion. Because I had massive abdominal injuries I have massive amounts of adhesions. They can be very painful. Unfortunately there is little that can be done to ease the pain of adhesions other than surgery. Because injury or surgery caused the initial adhesions another surgery will produce the same results.

Please let us know how you are doing. I will be very interested to hear how this is resolved for you. We are here for you if you need us. Take Care, Tuck

Wow, that is awful. Did you get a throttle right to the stomach? My husband is a rider and has had numerous injuries but nothing like that. I'm sorry I can't be of help but hopefully someone else can contribute. I hope you find answers with the endoscopy.

Hi willy27,
I also welcome you to our community and invite you to post as many questions as you need/want to, that is what were here for to help in any way we can.
I do not have any of the symptome you descibe but other members may and you will get more reponses.
I do certainly hope the doctors find out what is going on. I am also glad to see you have found a new doctor that seems to be doing all he can to help you. We forget to realize that our doctors do have to look for reasons unknown to them for what is wrong with us. They are not perfect and it is good to have a doctor willing to stop at nothing to find the cause of our pain. I thank God for my doctor and do also thank him and let him know how much he is appreciated.
I hope things turn out well for you and you find out what is causing your pain, please keep us up to date.
