Hi and welcome to the Pain Management Forum of MedHelp. I am glad you found us. I commend you for running. Even when I could I didn't, unless something was chasing me.

Chest pain is always a concern and should never be ignored. Mollyrae is correct that this could be a GI issue. And I would also recommend a Prilosec or something similar.

However because it only happens when you run is of concern to me. It could be Cardiac related and you should always rule out Cardiac issues before you assume it is anything else.

There are various program available as Mollyrae said that may assist you with Medical costs. Please keep us updated and let us know how you are doing.

Take care, Tuck

Hello and welcome to MH. I am not a Doctor and there are no Doctors in this Forum.

From the sounds of things, you are probley having some type of Gastrointestinal issue. Have you tried taking an OTC Antacid before you run? Smoking and the fact that your overweight can cause Reflux issues.

Try the Antacid and see how you do. If the problems increase then it is time to speak with a Physician wheather you have insurance or not.

Also, many clinics have a charity program depending on your income...It wouldn't hurt to check on various program available.

Take care and good luck in the future,
Mollyrae
