I see that you are updating many of your old threads...And some are over a year and a half...

If this is all in reference to your current issue...It would be good to just update this thread (most recent) so that it doesn't get too confusing..

It sounds like over this last year that they haven't found anything to help but the Physical Therapy...That is good news if you don't need surgery..

Do you type on the computer a lot? Or play video games or the guitar....What repititious movement do you do with the thumb and index finger?

Most Dr.s have a policy that if you cancel on them after 2 or 3 times...you will be discharged from their practice...

Is there a reason why you keep cancelling?

Ginseng is for energy I believe and Ginko Beloba is supposed to help with memory.
I've tried both and did not notice much.

I'm very pale and my hands turn purple/blue in winter and usually feel cold to other people.
It's fun to run up behind my friends and tag them on the back of the neck with an icy hand and watch them jump a mile. It may just be a matter of complexion leading to a hieghtened awareness of less blood flow to the area in a cold enviroment as the body decreases blood flow to the extremities in an effort to keep the core warm.

Still I would definately get it checked out, especially if this has only been happening recently.

Good to hear from you.

I assume you mean you are still experiencing blueness in your hand.My heart goes out to you.

Have they given you a reason or a diagnosis? Has the physio helped?

Have they tested your electrolytes, vitamin and mineral levels?

I'll be watching for your response.

My Best to You,

Hi Gurneet,

It's good to hear from you but sorry that it is because you are experiencing troublesome symptoms.

Blueness in any extremity can be from several causes but in my experience it usually is an indication of lack of proper blood supply or better said, poor circulation. It is the rich oxygenated blood that gives our skin the "pink" hue. When this is lacking the pinkness is replaced with a blueish color.  If you've ever been very cold you will sometimes note the change in color in your extremities....same reason.

Obviously there are other reasons for blueness to a part, but poor circulation is the most common. What causes this is important to determine. A condition called Raynaud's Disease can cause fingers to be blueish and interfere with normal circulation but I haven't know it to affect the entire hand.

Apparently your physicians do not believe that the color change you are noting is related to circulation. Have you come right out and asked why this is happening? If you are not getting a reasonable response I would certainly seek another opinion.

Best of luck and please let us know what you find out. I'll look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Take Care,
~Tuck
