You are doing every thing right. Keep the arm mobilized by stretching/exercising it. And definitely check out PT if you are having problems. I wish I had after surgery, as it would have saved me from some unnecessary problems. Though the surgical pain does take some time to go away. Recovery is never fun, but you'll get though it.

Hello Sweetnuts and welcome to MedHelp. You may want to visit the other forums also. I am glad you found us. I am very sorry to hear about your surgery and the pain you are now experiencing because of it.

It sounds as if you are doing everything correct. I doubt there are many more thing you can do to decrease the pain and numbness. Have you been to PT. Sometimes a good physical therapist can speed the healing process. I would recommend heat but often that can increase swelling which will only increase your discomfort. I would discuss that option with your surgeon.

If you are having more than the usual pain I would certainly bring that to my surgeons attention. If you are not receiving medication to ease your pain I would most certainly request something. There are many medications on the market that are effective and non-narcotic.

Please keep us posted and let us know how you are progressing. Take care, Tuck
