Living with severe chronic pain

My wife endures continuous, severe chronic pain. Neck, back, teeth, mouth, left arm and leg, fingers. She has also endured numereous MRI's, electric shock pain diagnosis (barbaric), nerve blocks, you name it. She takes hydrocodine, ambien, diazapam (having tried everything else). This has been going on for years and getting worse. Nothing works. She sees specialists, but they can't help. She is 50, was always athletic, loves life, a beautiful artist. Now she's totally shut off, can't paint for more than 5 min's, has terrible double vision most of the time, exhausted, can't sleep...on and on. We're looking for help. Anything. Thanks for reading.

I am soo sorry for what your wife us going through ...it really is horrible to be so disabled at such a young age.... I too am in that age group and ha e endured my share of pain, I think if all comes down to tbe right doctor and the right combination of medications...you say she takes hydrocodone...that is a very first libe if defense for doctors personally it dud nothing for my pain at all, I know everyone is different and for some it works good but I would see if she could get on a long lasting med that might give  her some relief....just my opinion...but having s doctor u trust and a regimen of meds she could lead a very healthy active life, like I do. .ket me know her progress...take care

I am 56 and have been going through a similar situation--mine started about 50 too.  I have a lot of spinal problems, plus some autoimmune issues and many other health problems  I had a lot of epiduals too.  I can't tolerate pain meds

Just know she's not alone.  I understand.  I'm still searching for answers.  I am swelled up like a balloon and can't walk, sit or stand.  I was an athletic person most of my life till this happened.
