hernia in groin
i have a hernia in my groin. can this cause pain to shoot down my leg. it also reacts like a cramp in the muscle of my leg.

Hi!
Well, yes! Hernia in the groin can compress the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve that comes from the hip area and gets pinched. This condition is called meralgia paresthetica and causes pain to shoot down the front of thigh.
If the pain is shooting down the back of leg then it is probably sciatica. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
