Please please do your homework on the Suboxone.  We have some articles on it in the health pages on the substance abuse forum.        sara

Hello and welcome to the Pain Management Forum.

It is alawys best to discuss any termination or change with your physician. They can best advise you how to come off pain medications.

May I ask why you want to discontinue them if you are having chronic pain. I would be absolutely panic stricken at the thought of trying to tolerate this horrible CP without medications.

Good luck to you, Tuck

where do you get your pain meds? if you get them from a dr then you should talk to that dr about quitting. if he can't prescribe sub for you, he can give you a ref to someone who can. another alternative would be to taper or go c/t.
good luck

CAREFUL!!!!   I just came off my pain meds and I met a doctor at the hospital I was at that said suboxone is great for substance abuse users. If you are on pain meds on a regular basis. Suboxone might not be the answer.  I am writing you with anxiety and the shakes right now...but am very happy I didi not go on the Suboxone!!!  It is merely another drug you need to "come off of"   It basically stimulates the nuero transmitters into becoming additcted to another drug.   Better to come off your pain meds slowly and monitered by your PM.
