When do I call the pain management doctor?

I have been going to pain management for two months I firs was one the fentanyl patch for long term relief and oxycodone for short term relief the patch was WAY too strong i threw up for three days straight which my my spasms even worst by the way I have achalasia which gives me esophagus spasms they too me off and put me on morphine which did nothing so now im on oxycodone 5mg and nothing else which was fine at first i take them five times a day last week I started having really bad spasms and the pain medicine is not controlling it my appointment is on monday I am hurting so bad i tried to call my doctor office today and i asked for earlier appointment this week and all she said was your appointment is on monday have a nice day im sitting here crying because i have to small children to tend to and i cant even get out of the bed oh and by the way my car broke down so im not going to have transportation until my husband gets the car fixed I have no idea what to do im scared to call them tomorrow and tell them because i already called today and she blew me off i honestly dont think i can wait until monday i might just have to go to ER everyday until my appointment I dont know this is horrible any advice would help thanks

You condition sounds really miserable - even aside from the pain.  Have you already had a myotomy or are you considering it in the future?  Do any of the smooth muscle relaxers like nifidipine help?

I am so sorry to hear that your pain levels are so high. My heart goes out to you.

I encourage you to contact your PMP again. Explain your pain is so severe that you are considering going to ER..... but be cautious as your contract may prohibit you from obtaining opiate medications from anyone other then your PMP. Regardless of your pain levels if you violate that contract you may be dismissed from your PM Clinic.

I hope they will fit you in or at the least RX something to hold you over till Monday. Please let us know how you are doing.
