Thank you Dee! And yes, everyone does metabolize pain medications in different rates. I have a liver disease, and this makes a big difference in my case, and my doctor uses it in his favor.
Hopefully the doctor will consider the long term relationship. Our plight is precarious though, we chronic pain patients are being treats as though we are drug addicts, sad days.
I just saw your question, it has been almost 10 days since you asked, I hope no one minds if I try to help.
Some people can metabolize pain meds quicker than others.
Can you go back to your doctor to explain that you were taking your meds exactly as prescribed? I have read on here that the tests are only 95% correct.
My husband had something similar happen to him. He had to go into the hospital for asthma and we have no idea what he must have been given but another drug was found in his system when his pain management doctor tested him. Luckily he has always done well so his doctor gave him another chance.
If you have been with this doctor for 10 years I would hope he would trust you by now. Good luck, Dee
