I agree with Tuck the dentist mistook your asking for something stronger as your drug seeking. I KNOW what kind of pain your going through, I am assuming you mean dry socket. this is VERY painful and to be honest with you there is nothing short of morphine thats going to totally get rid of this awful pain. The hydrocodone will help but much better than darvocet.
I would talk to the dentist and explain your just in pain and definatly not abusing the medications he is prescibing!
If need be go to the ER and tell them the darvocet is not working for the pain and they will most likley give something stronger but only a small amount.
Good luck, let us know how your doing.
Hello,
Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Community.
I have no idea why your dentist would order darvocet for you. I am guessing but would imagine he/she was concerned when you requested something stronger than the hydrocodone. Sometimes a dentist or physician suspect a patient of drug abuse of dependency and are reluctant to prescribe strong opiates. You may have been misread by the dentist.
Peace, Tuck
the hydrocodone is much stronger. Their concern for your liver is that both contain tylenol and THAT is what can damage your liver if you take more than a couple thousand mg at a time.
hydrocodone is much more stronger then darvcett..maybe they misunderstood you.. there really is a big difference betweewn them
