I have to have my sternum rewired because a wire broke. Now I'm asking what's the recovery time and why is my doctor also suggesting a muscle flap?

Hello Efliter,

Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post. But I am sorry to hear about your recurring pain.

Have you seen your PCP for these symptoms? What kind of testing have you had done? If you have not seen your PCP I encourage you to do so asap.

Cardiac pain may present with many different symptoms. I am not suggesting that you are have a cardiac problem but if it hasn't been ruled out it should be. Pain that becomes so severe that is causes you to vomit needs to be diagnosed and reported immediately when it occurs.

I know that my response is tardy and I apologize for that. Please seek a medical opinion today, even if the pain has subsided. And please let us know how you are doing. I will look forward to your updates.

Best of luck to you and please take care.
