soma substitute

My pain clinic is no longer writing for soma. I have had flexeril, robaxin, skelaxin before and they aren't as effective. What can I try?

Diazepam is the generic name for valium.

I went to my general practice dr and he said either diazepam or baclofen.I have never had either one. I wish now I had asked him for some samples or a small amount on a scrip to try out before going back to pm in November. I,ve also heard zanaflex is ok but I,ve never had that one either. any suggestions?

Zanaflex is the brand name. The generic name is Tizanadine.

There is also baclofen to try. Personally, for me, 10mg is not enough, but 15mg knocks me out so I'm limited to taking it at night. But everyone is different, so you may find it helps.

I agree Valium one of the best, although it seems like Dr's don't like prescribing it much anymore.

Tizanadine is okay too, I think it's better than the others you listed, I've tried them all too.

I was on Soma and was switched to valium. I think it's an excellent medication, even though it is habit forming.
