my left heel hurts really bad even at rest but worse when i am on it at the end of day it is hard to walk it is not the arch it is my heel there is a very sore spot on the left side of my heel when i press on it it is very touchy, also pain does radiate into my left ankle too almost feels like it has something in it as certain ways i step on it hurt worse, been using ice helps some but it even throbs when i am not on it,even bought some shape up shoes to wear as it would take more pressure off my heel they do also help, but after being on my feet a couple of hours then i can reaLLY FEEL THE SHARP PAIN HEEL AND ANKE.

Hi mae600,

First, I want to welcome you to the PM (Pain Management) Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own expertise and experiences that we have developed through our own CP Issues.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that you are experiencing all of this pain.  It must be horrifically painful for you whenever you are on your feet.  I hope that you will make an appointment with a Podiatrist or with your PCP, if you need a referral first, and get this extremely painful problem checked out so that you can get the relief that you both need and deserve!

I hope that you will keep us updated on what you find out from your Doctor.

I'm sending you "Good Thoughts" and we'll be looking for your update.........Sherry :)

I went thru this too..as soon as the warm weather came and started to wear sandals i would get this pain when walking...I saw a foot dr. and he told me that i had Plantar Fasciitis. It causes pain and inflammation of a thick band of tissue, called the plantar fascia, that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain.

Plantar fasciitis commonly causes stabbing pain that usually occurs with your very first steps in the morning. Once your foot limbers up, the pain of plantar fasciitis normally decreases, but it may return after long periods of standing or after getting up from a seated position.

I went thru physical therapy for three months and pain went away..until last year it started again..Dr. did MRI and results this time was tendonitis..i did the same excercise that i did at the physical therapist and the pain went away..and have had no pain so far.. I am wearing now a sandal with back strap and more support on top...

I would see a foot dr. to make sure that there is not something more serious there..   WISH YOU LUCK..
