I had triple arthrodesis when I was 41 . It took me 22 weeks to get back to work at the time was recieving short term dissabillity from work. The cut me off after about 16 weeks and asked why I was walking yet. I guess the ins companies recovery time is quicker then that established by the hospitals. Anyways I did not try to get social aid through social security but I may try this time as I will get the left foot repaired shortly. I wonder if anyone knows if I could get a little money out of the system to get by for thoose five months.

I am one that considers surgery a last resort option when all else has failed. I see you have had numerous different ones so your aware of the recovery time. With the triple arthrodesis you will need a significant amount of time for recovery and physical therapy. The question is are you at the point where you just can't manage the pain and are willing to take the chance that this surgery will help. Everyone reacts differently to surgery and what may help one could make your worse. Has your surgeon done many of the surgeries. This is also something you will want to look into and his success rate.
Dealing with any kind of pain and having children to take care of is so difficult to say the least. I would say research the doctor's success rate and the surgery itself and then decide if it may be an option for you.
Other's here may have had the surgery and they may post too.
I hope you do get some relief either way, keep us posted:)
