4 year old with pain in hia toes

my 4 year old son recently complains about his two middle fingers sticking togther like magnets, later he came to me screaming in pain saying his does were hurting really bad, I rushed him to the er, full code red in my pov, we waited for 5 hours in the er, with no explanation from the generic er Dr , tells me he never heard of it, no we're on line in all of my research I too have not heard of anything,,,,it is the weekend hopefully his family Dr can be of help, hopefully someone out their in the internet knows about this, thanks a concerned dad, p,s his right foot, and left hand,
