ANOTHER HIGH FEVER 2 WEEKS LATER

My son had his cbc done yesterday and his wbc was 6.7 and his nuetrophils were at 30%.His ANC well over 1000. This morning we were about to leave for the weekend and my husband says he is hot.So we take his temp and he is at 104F.Can you believe that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I called the dr and he said to have blood work done again so they can see where his numbers are at.
This is so weird exactly 2 weeks later. We are so frustrated with no answers. The drs thought that cyclic nuetropenia then he would have a fever in about a month time again not 2 weeks later.

Thank you I appreciate that.I think they are waiting to see if he gets another low white count and then we will see a hematologist. If he does get another high fever and they do nothing then I will be seeking a new set of drs.
I think our next step would be mayo clinic or a place like that.Although last year he was admitted to Riley North for 3 days and they found nothing except an EBV infection. Then already his neut count was low and lymph count high. They just said viruses.I will give it another month and then see what happens.
Thanks again for you concern.I will keep you updated.

I would take him to the doctors, but to different doctors.. not the same ones. It's good to have a new set of eyes looking at what it might be and the possibilities. I would see which specialist are covered by insurance and go to someone else..

So we here back from the dr and he says that the lymph are at 10% and the nuet are at 78%.The total opposite to what he has been having. The dr says just an infection and he will be fine.My husband says no more drs or blood tests as these are not giving us any answers.I am really scared not to take have him checked when he does have a high fever like that.DO you think I should just go ahead and take him in on MOnday anyway?
I am really frustrated and upset with all of this.It seems like history is repeating itself.
