9 year old walking on her right toes

Hi,
I've read previous post about other people that have children that are 8, 9, 10 and even older that walk on their toe.  NOT both feet just one foot.  My daughter does not have ADD or autism.  Very intelligent just not very coordinated.  The leg that she walks on her toe is about 4mm shorter than the other leg, and doesn't seem to be as developed as the other leg.  The calve and quad is "slightly" smaller.  She is a picky eater and it my sister and we always joke how alike they are. My sister is 50.  Anyway.  I'm very concerned because the only thing the orthopedic dr. has given her are foot boots that stretch her calves.  They are tracking her growth progress and said that if it doesn't improve in years to come that she may need surgery... shorten one leg by breaking it.. I'm not sure of all the details.
So my question is..  What would anyone recommend to do so she stops walking on her toe?
She's playing softball this in the next couple of weeks but she runs with a limp..my heart really goes out to her because she is so determined and actually shows great potential.
Thanks,
JO.

Thanks for the comment.  Just today I explained to her that she really needs to concentrate while walking and try to not walk on her toes.  She's a great kids and is very determined.  Be well!

Other than ignoring her doing sounds like not much you can do,she cant help the limp and maybe as time goes on and she does more soft ball she will run with less limp,It is hard to see ones child trying so hard but sounds like she enjoys it so just encourage her till she gets it fixed .
