Daughter won't swallow saliva

My daughter is 10, and she states that she feels like something like hair is in her throat.  She refuses to spit, and she is not eating much (not like she is used to eating).  This has been going on since Monday 12-6.  Today is 12/8, and I will call the doctor tomorrow.  Any suggestions?  She is also making a facial gesture that looks like she is chewing gum.
