Fluid in optic nerve in eye

My grandson 8 years old has been told he has a fluid build up in one eye. It said to be herditary. per retina doctor. Retina doctor took some pictures and wiil see him every other month to see if fluid continues to build. If so some type of surgery is required.  Could you tell me what are the types of corrective surgery and who in the usa would be the  BEST very  BEST surgeon for this regardless of his location.  I am a big fan of second opinions and I will go to whom ever is the best. I live in pgh pa. Thanks for help.
