Thank you for taking the time to reply. My daughter's hair isn't falling out, it is just sitting there doing nothing. You are probably right about taking her now to the derm. But truthfully I think she's already smart enough to understand. But, I think it would be better to deal with now, then later.
Well, my daughter who is 1 has he hairline of a 50 year old man but she's only 1. She was born with a HUGE head of black hair that has since fallen out and grown back in blonde.
At 5, I just don't know but if your dr suggests a dermatologist, I would go. Tell her it's just another routine visit. I'm sure she won't really understand. If it's a problem maybe early detection from the derm can treat it. When she starts getting older and really interacting with peers, it will get worse for her emotionally. She will feel a lot more self conscious than if you just take her to the other dr now.
