My son has horrible a reaction to heat

I am the mother of a 3 year old son, who last summer started to experience some strange reactions to the heat. If we went outside in the sun or any place that was warm, he would start itching at his hands and face. If we did not immediately get him somewhere cool, he would start screaming that it hurt and his body would start shaking. Once we got him cooled down and relaxed, we noticed that he would start swelling.  For about a week after the symptoms we had to give him ice cold baths because even lukewarm water would start the symptoms all over again. We took him to a pediatrician and an emergency care facility and they both told us it was probably a sun allergy that he would grow out of or the laundry detergent that we were using. Now it is a year later and we find the problem getting worse and we are not able to even take him in the car on a hot day or play outside in the shade. We are not sure if this is a skin condition that we should take him to a dermatologist for or if it could be something else. If you could give us any advise so our son can enjoy a normal childhood, we would be forever grateful!!

It sounds like Solar Urticaria,or hives and its all too common, triggered by an allergon perhaps and exacerbated by the Sun, keep him out of the direct rays of the sun, there are cortisone creams may work for some and Antihistimines,it could be he is allergic to your Dete rgent there is a free and clear one to use.but he could be allergic to a number of things. Try cutting out differant foods and hair products and shower Gels, and just see if it .helps, its a tough one as there are so many things out there that affect our skin, seek help from a dermatologist .
