I feel for you. As mothers, we worry a lot about our babies. Don't give up because God is very good and children are amazing. Anyway, a few years ago the same thing happened to a friend of mine. After severl doctors, she took him to Children's Hospital in Philly and they concluded that her son was literally tongue-tide.(The flap of skin that conects the tongue to the jaw is too short and therefore, precludes the tongue from moving freely.) I'll say a prayer for you kiddo. Hang in there!
Hi hun, I have totally walked in your shoes. when my daughter was 18 months, I noticed that she didn't say hardly anything compared to my 15 month old niece who repeatded everything. Our pediatrician told me I was overreacting, and that all children developed differently. So I found an ENT, had my daughters hearing tested and she passed that, had her evaluated by a speech theoropist at age 2, and was told she did have speech problems, but they recommended me to wait till she was a little older. Her best advise to me was to talk to her constantly. Even when doing the smallest thing like fixing a cup of milk, I would detail everything for my daughter. At the age of 3 & 1/2 we set her up with a speech theorapist twice weekly. She is 5 now and still undergoing theorapy on a weekly basis and I tell you, she talks better then my 13 year old.
So don't give up Kim, my advise, find a doctor that will listen to your concerns and do what ever they have to to help make you feel better. and also Speech theoropy never hurt anyone. Good luck
I have been there ..............YOu can call a regional center which is free......and have him tested also the school district can do testing for free for kids over the age of 3 and provide services.....ALL SCHOOLS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THE TESTING COMPLETE IN 30 DAYS FROM THE REQUEST AND THEY HAVE 45 DAYS FROM THE REQUEST WAS MADE TO START THE SERVICE.........AND COUNT DAYS CAUSE THEY TRY TO MESS WITH YOU...........
