Hi,

My son did surgery at four months for an umbilical remnant. It was removed, the opening to the bladder was closed and and hernia repaired.

He is now six months and I have noticed that there is once again a discharge from his navel which started recently. The area is slightly red and looks sore. Nothing showed up on the ultrasound or the VUCG. Any idea what this might be? I am worried that it may get infected. I can't understand why there is a discharge if this was fixed. Before the surgery, the doc said it was a leakage of urine...any insight would help please.

We have been referred back to his pediatrician after all these tests.
