Two and 1/2 year old with intermittent tachycardia

My two and 1/2 year old has a resting heart rate at times in the 140's. Normal ECG from what they can read just tachy in the 140's-150's. We are having a holter done but why can this happen? Echo was normal besides a marginal decrease in pulmonary blood flow to the lungs.
