a child is discoverd to be extremely dehydrated and is placed in a tub of ice water ( ice cubes included0
please explain how this helps the child

No this wont help a dehydrated child this is for a child with a fever, a dehydarted child ,is given fluids sometimes intraveniously if its severe , but lots of water , do you know of someone placing a child in ice water for this , I suggest you see if you can get them or you take the child to the Doctor ,what do the parents say ...
