Hi there,
Not all babies develop at the same speed, however with his neck issues I would be concerned. My now 5 1/2 month old son wasn't turning over on to his side until age 7 months when he started to get PT. We also were warned with is condition that this would happen.(he has a heart issue.
I had a friend who has a son that did something to what your nephew is not doing and they discovered that he had a begin tumor on his brain. he too had a huge head and to this day still does but he is perfectly fine now. his doctor referred him for a pt/ot eval and they said he was delayed and it was something with the nervous system and that is when they sent him for a CT of his brain
I would write everything down that is of concern to you and his parents and next time he goes for his check up then mom and dad (whoever takes him needs to address their concerns. I personally would have someone go with who ever brings him for support in saying they have seen this too. and then they can also be the extra ears for what the doctor has said.
To be honest, usually these appt. take a wee bit, as you know they should be able to see that he is stiff and doesn't turn his head
good luck and thank you for being a VERY CARING AUNT.

I agree he only lays on his back not tummy.  How do I say something to her without upsetting her.  This is a very sticky situation.

hey i have a six months old...he started rollijg over from back to tummy exactly at 5 months and stays in his tummy forever and he has no desire to stay on his back...and he just starte drolling from tummy to back 2 weeks ago...i had a doctors appt. 10 days ago..he was 22 lbs not fat but big baby  height and head circumfrence all over 100 percentile he does everying but not rolling over until two weeks other than that he already cooed at 3 months now laughs loud , hand to hand transfer babble and so on..
my point not much to worry rolling over,...but his sholder and arms shouldnt be stiff..and am worring about head circumfrence and no neck movement..please take him to the doctor .l. feel there is a little bit delay here and there please go for a check up ASAP he could catch with everything if u take him earyly and find out what is happening,..may be he is not getting enough of what he is fed or may be something is wrong but we cant see physically so go go go for a checkup ..and u will give him a healty future probably a life saving situaltion  go please and post what happen
