humping 2 year old

We have noticed our two year old daughter humping her hand over the last few months. She does have problems pooping and it seemed like the two went hand in hand. If she had to poop she would hump her hand, or so we thought. Now even after she poops, we will find her humping her hand. She does it to excessively that she gets really sweaty. Do you think she is possibly masterbating? Is it normal, and what should we do?

My 2 yro daughter started doing this about a year and a half ago. She would get on top of her blanket and "hump" it. It was mostly when she would be really tired but didnt want to admit it. I asked her pediatrician if it was normal and she said that it was very normal and that it was a comfort thing. Doing that made her more comfortable and relaxed so she could go to sleep. She was 1 then and she will be 3 in 4 months and she still does it about 2-3 times a week. I just let her do it cuz she knows when its appropriate timing and when its not. I hope someone finds this helpful

My step daughter has been humping here hands for about a year. more resently we have noticed that she comes home from her moms and her area is very red and irritated. I think it should be checked out but my husband has talked to her mom and she says its just diaper rash. But sometimes shes only with her mom for a day. Can she get it that quick?

Funny that you would post this.  My 17 mo. old ds humps my leg at night to go to sleep.  He throws horrible, horrible tantrums if I make him get down.  My mom says he is not humping my leg, she swares its because he has a hernia and he is putting pressure on it.  Whatever it is I hate it..
