I'm glad to hear you have an incontinence nurse to guide you, that will make it a bit easier to figure out the right things to do to help yourself. Once the urodynamics test is completed your health care practitioners will have a better idea of  what procedures need to be done. Do ask your incontinence nurse if they will be checking for other types of POP at the same time (for example, if you have constipation issues, they should check for a rectocele as well prior to surgery).

I speak with women every week in their 30s (and even sometimes in their 20s) who have POP issues so know that you are not alone. Step one is to get a diagnosis to see exactly what is wrong, but if you have bad leakage as well as can not contract your pc enough to hold in gas when you feel the urge to pass air, it indicates a very weak pelvic floor. What kind of physician are you seeing? You should see a urogynecologist if possible, they are the specialists for pelvic organ prolapse and the type of physician you would want to do your surgery. It shouldn't matter what your age is, what is important is the degree of POP you have and the types you have. (There are 5 types, 4 degrees of severity-1 is mildest, 4 is worst case scenario.)

If the dr does not feel you POP is bad enough to warrant surgery, you should ask about seeing a physical therapist. A PT can help you learn how to recognize the pc contraction better so you can do pelvic floor (Kegel) exercises properly. If you don't do them the right way, they won't do any good. There are also other treatments they can recommend for you. Here is a link to an article I wrote about Kegel's and Kegel Breathing, maybe it will help you. Understand that they won't get strong overnight, you have to keep at it for a while.

Here's the link to the Kegels article.

I hope you have good luck finding the right dr. If you have additional questions, shoot them this way as they come up.
