Falling apart at 49

Hello
Im a 49 year old who had a hysterectomy 6 years ago, no children.I also worked in directcare for over 25 years that involved alot of constant heavy lifting. Recently while gardening i noticed alot of pressure in my vaginal area. I went to the bathroom to urinating and  notice a large pink mass protrueding from my vagina. Seconds later i  felt a BM but my bowel landed in the vagina and wouldnt pass stool.. In order to void i had to push with my fingers towards the back wall of the rectum? The mass never went back in after the stool  passed. Its like im dialated for child birth, always open, mass is exposed to the air, itching and burning at times. I tried pushing it back in with no luck. Im also having pain of the back ,legs, stomack cramps and pinching.Distended feeling, problem BMs and urinating all the time. I have an appt on August second, have to wait for insurance to kick in. What is going on with me? Does it sound like stage 3 POP? Falling apart at 49.

I am always so delighted to hear from women who have supportive husbands during POP issues, that's great!

I answered another one of your posts just a couple of minutes ago about putting a support garment on after you push the tissues in-this sometimes helps both from a keeping the tissues inside aspect as well as should make you feel more comfortable aspect. Manually pushing inside the vagina to get poop out is a common practice with rectocele, with that bulge in the rectum/colon, it is hard to get bm to happen no matter what fiber you eat. I'm going to send you a PM to get more info to you hon!

Thanks Sherri for your super quick responce!
I already tried pushing the tissue back in for a month now. Well guess thats not working lol. I pritty much need to push all BM'S out with my fingers, and urinate15 times or more a day. This is really getting on the last nerve. I left my job in May because it was physically too much for me after tearing a muscle in my calf that was job related. So this is really no surprise. I  want to get back in the working  world soon, something easy. How long is recovery post -op............... just want to fix this asap.Thank god I have an awsome husband who loves me!

Yes there is no doubt that this is POP, you are displaying several very specific indicators. Is the physician you are seeing a urogynecologist? If it is a gynecologist I urge you to get a referral from that dr to a urogyn, they are the specialists for POP and can address any of the 5 types of POP. The heavy lifting you'vve done has absolutely had an impact on your pelvic floor; we're never taught to contract out pc b/4 we lift, only to watch our backs. You may have both rectocele and cystocele going on, the pain, pressure, bulging from vagina are all indicators. You can push the pink  tissue back in without harming yourself (wash first please!) but it will come back out. With more progressive POP, you can't pee or poop, with grade 2 cystocele you have urinary frequency and leakage. Read the following post and it will give you some basics.
