Cholesterol

My last blood test of 6/5/08 showed  totalCholesterol 177, HDL 104, LDL 60, Tri 65.  I had been taking Liptor (liptor) 10 and Zetia 10 for about 6 weeks.  A blood test of 6/7/07  showed TC 216, HDL, 102, LDL 104, Tri 50.  I had been taking Provachol 40  at that time.  I have blood tests going back to 2004 when I took no statins and shows slightly higher levels including HDL.   One of my blood tests taken in Sept of 07 and my HDL was 107 says the result for HDL has been confirmed by repeat analysis.  My Cardio wants me to keep my Cholesterol as I have MVP with severe regurg. and feels lower cholesterol and lower BP is good for me.  My BP runs about 115-120 over 60 to 70.  I am 5'8"  155lbs  and 72 years.  What I want to know is that I have heard people who take statins often get bad pain in their arms, legs, and other body parts.  Well for the past 6 weeks I have bad pains in my teeth and jaw.  First dentist said I need root canal, went to Endo dentist he said probably TMJ see a Neurologist.  I have been to 3 Dentists, 2 Endodentists, 2 Neurologists 1 Periodentist.  Every one gives me a different answer.  Last Neuro I saw told me to take Aleve.  It did  nothing but give me a stomach ache.  So I started to think what this could be.  Maybe the pain is from the statins maybe not.  Please tell me what you think.  It is so awful to have constant pain.  The pain tends to move to different places. It could be on upper left, lower left, upper right , lower right.  Sometimes no pain.  Does any one have any suggestions.  I need  help.  I take either fioricet or esgic 2 headache meds for the pain as I have always been a Headache sufferer.  I also sometimes use Vicodin which I have left over from a horriblr sccident I had 2 years ago.
Please I need help.  Sorry this is so long but I wanted to fully explain

Hello
It sounds like you're in great deal of pain. I have never heard of statins causing this type of discomfort. It is usually muscle discomfort in the legs and elsewhere. I doubt that your symptoms are related. However, stranger things have happened. please keep me updated if you find that they are related thanks and good luck
