from every 35 days to every 22 - 26 days between periods

I have PCO's which is responsible for my acne and my periods normally always being late between 28 days and 35 . A few periods ago I was 5 weeks late for my period and was sick and feverish until it arrived. I have never felt so ill in my life like I did during that period. Even my doctor was worried and wanted to send me for a acan.

I recently had the last period 5 days early with heavy bleeding and cramping pain. Then again this month 1 day early. My breasts seem to be growing larger and my bleeding is very heavy and clotted. This is unusual for me. I've never had early periods. The period cramps I feel I have not felt since 10 years ago before I ever had children. I may well be worrying over the nothing but I am unsure why I am early the past 2 periods when I have been under stress and normally that makes me late not early. Are my PCO's changing my hormones again? My acne is just as bad as ever and my libido has increased massively. I did stop drinking Soya milk and eating as much meat and wheat to look after my body. Could that be affecting the hormones and the PCO's and creating early painful periods?

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm 32, I am not ready for a menopause just yet.

Hi Melissa

I discovered that Soya products contain hormones that make your body create extra oestrogen too. I have felt so much better and even my hair has started growing faster again. I think this is how normal bodies are supposed to work. I'm not struggling with the insulin resistance as much either now that I cut down the meat which was prob blocking my liver. It's interesting how meat and protein can affect our moods like that. I've switched to fish and my weight is starting to drop and skin is better and hair and nails. No longer all lethargic. Def must be the extra hormones in meat for years that slowed me down. I also did a liver detox a few weeks ago which might have changed things. I'll try one more month of healthy eating and see if it's just a normal body now. I also had abnormal smear tests a few years ago and I've since healed from dyskariosis after my colposcopy but I doubt that would affect hormones would it?

Thanks

I too suffer from PCOS but have never had an early period except when I stopped eating meat.  Many of the foods we eat are loaded with hormones so it kinda makes sense that cutting out such a big source of hormones would change your hormone levels.  I would suggest mentioning it to your dr & seeing what they say.  Diet changes are often encouraged when diagnosed with PCOS to help with symptoms & infertility, so maybe it is your body letting you know it's starting to work better.

Good luck :-) & post an update when you see a DR or get some answers.
