Brownish- redddish discharge

Hi,

I am 35, mother of a 3 yr old. I have had PCOS since I was 15.Irregular periods( having periods for 10 days to not having periods for 7 months I have had it all). Luckily for me , we never had a problem conceiving and had my son a little over 3 yrs back. Now my current problem started about 3 months back with brownidh discharge, which didnt really soak my panties but would come very typically once a day, usually before pooping, as a gush of discharge.
I went to my doc and got my pap smear (which came normal) and also got test done for infetion( which came positive for yeast) Took medications and everything was normal till my next periods got over..Around 20th day I got back my brownish discharge, again typically once a day.

Does this mean I could hv got the infection back?
Could this have nothing to do with yeast infection but something entirely hormonal?
I do find it reduces if I do not work out , but with exercises(I do weights) it gets back. Can excercise be a cause?
As of today it had been on and off for almost 2 weeks.

Any thoughts on what could be wrong?

Thanks!

Thanks Sanjivani.

I shall consult my doctor in the coming week and keep u posted.

I just wanted to get an opinion from u regarding the seriousness of the problem. Can I safely say after my pap smears, that the reason is not cancer?
Do you suggest I should get a pap smear next year? ( my doc suggested I need not get a pap smear for 3 yrs now)

HI,
Since you have ruled out local issues in the cervix and vagina, this is more likely to be due to hormonal issues. This can also be due to PCOS. Very strenuous exercise can cause spotting not routine exercise. Consult your Doctor. Hope this helps.
