I was told that you shouldn't be on Clomid for more than 6 cycles total. If it hasn't worked within 6 cycles, more aggressive treatments are recommended to increase your chances of getting pregnant. I was only on one cycle of Clomid; it didn't make me ovulate, and my RE recommends injectible FSH combined with Clomid and an IUI. I'm all for aggressive treatment if it increases my chances, but the only problem is that FSH injections are A LOT more expensive than Clomid ($5 vs. $900!). Good luck!
I was just re-reading my clomid papers from the doctor and it says that if after three cycles a meeting with the doctor is recommended. then in a later paragraph, it says continuing clomid treatment for more than 6 cycles is not likely to increase the chances of success.
Hi,
I think you should have still taken the Clomid! I doubt that anything big really happens the first time anyway, although some women are lucky! So by your second batch you should be well on your way to ovulation! I started my third dose...crossing my fingers this time!!!
hello everyone! dis is the second day of my cycle and my ob said that il take clomid on the second day but now im confused if il do it because my husband is away. do i need to take clomid? pls help with ur opinions. thanks
Got a response from my doctor! Told me to repeat the dosage! Thanks again for your help!
Thanks for your response! I appreciate it! I emailed my Doctor and I am hoping he responses. I am going to continue the Clomid but I don't know if he would like me to increase the dose. I was taking 100mg daily for 5 days! I have read that after three months Clomid may no longer be an option. Do you know if there is any truth to this? Should I be worried that I have already reached my third? I don't know what would be the next step for me after this because I have very little options.
you should continue the clomid, as if your period was started with the provera. based on your message you should start clomid day 2. The provera is used to start your period, but the clomid helps with the ovulation. HTH
