i am a 27 year old female with a cyst of 3.1cm on my ovarie, i have no kids and doctors do not want to do the op becouse of the risk of my ovaries being damaged. What is my chances off falling preganant as they have advised me to start a family and have put me on some medication to melt the cyst

It all depends on the type of cyst some disappear by themselves, I'm not sure where you are from but here they usually repeat scan after about 3-6 months to check if the cyst has gone or is getting any bigger and causing problems. If you aren't having any uncomfortable pains or anything it may be worth waiting first, it won't stop you conceiving but it may be a little more difficult whilst the cyst is still present. Hope this helps :)

Yaz? Is this the contraceptive pill? It can actually be really good to help reduce cysts but if you are trying to start a family obviously this isn't going to help you. If you only have one cyst usually these do go away and I would consider the contraceptive pill for atleast 3/12 and ask your doctor to send you for another scan to check the progress if the cyst has resolved/shrunk then you could try starting for a family. Sharp pains and constipation are both common side affects from having ovarian cysts if the pain is unbearable then you should see your GP because maybe the operation is going to be more suitable, but unless desperate I would try and avoid this :) Hope this helps im not a doctor just from what i've understood from my own medical history

I'm not a doctor can only offer one piece of advise from my previous experience.  If you with consult with you doctor decide nor to remove the cyst but try to treat it please just make sure that they watch the cyst because if it doesn't just simply go away but instead bursts this can make you VERY sick with alot of pain. I ended up in the hospital other IV treatments for a week with extremely high temperature. Just something to keep in mind and discuss with your doctor. I wish you the best
