PCOS?

So I have been heavily menstrating now for 2 weeks with side effects including: weight gain, oily skin, loss of energy, bloating, extreme menstral cramping, trouble sleeping, and mood swings. Does anyone think this could possibly be Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom, if so I will make an appointment with my Gynacologist asap.

MissHaley: with PCOS it is common to have a period lasting for more then 5-7 days. The side effects that you have written go hand and hand with PCOS. When I was first DX with PCOS my menstral flow would last anywhere between 12-18 days NON stop..and heavy. I was givn Provera to stop the bleeding. So if you are having those effects I would say see a GYN so they can read the proper test..and in a couple of says you should know if you have PCOS.

Yes you need to make an appointment with your gyn asap! You period on average should last about 3-7 days...not two weeks. These symptoms do sound like pcos, so the faster you find out the faster you can start treatment.

your period should not last for two weeks!  you experiencing abnormal vaginal bleeding and should see a GYNO as soon as possible.  It could be PCOS but no way to know unless you get tests done.  good luck hope everything works out.
