Going back to when i had PCOS the doctor told me i could take meds for the extra side effects which i didnt want to do, so for the extra hair growth which is not nice i decided to get waxed.. and yes it hurts like hell but worth 5 mins of pain for a couple week of feeling hairless and 2 years on i still wax as its habbit now, as for weight gain all i can suggest is diet and maybe join a gym which worked for me and my mood swings felt better and more postive.
Good Luck :)

From what I understand, you can limit these problems by being treated with birth control--this would better regulate your menstrual cycles and help bring your body back to equilibrium. It may even lower your testosterone, which is the hormone responsible for the unwanted hair growth. If hormonal treatment--like birth control--does not seem to work, or only helps get rid of one or two of your symptoms, you may have to do things the old-fashioned way; namely, getting rid of unwanted hair by waxing it and losing weight by getting on a solid exercise schedule. Exercising several times a week (especially cardio) and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet are also crucial for keeping your weight within a normal range and helping your hormonal levels stay normal.
This is all information that was relayed to me by my reproductive endocrinologist. She does not recommend hormonal treatment for PCOS if you have a history of migraines, daily headaches, or stroke.
Please rest assured that this is one of the most common hormonal disorders in women--I think more than 1 out of every 10 women have this disease, so you're definitely not alone! I hope this information was helpful to you in some way.
