Ready to get pregnant, but kind of losing hope.

Me and my husband are really wanting to concieve, but as of right now we can not attempt.  I am on some medication that does not mix well with pregnancy, and I'm just kind of losing hope about getting off of the medication.  I am trying to lose weight, and I'm exercising, but I'm just getting very inpatient.  Any suggestions to make my process go faster to hopefully be taken off of my medication? (for high blood pressure)

I am using Labetalol 100mg three times a day, and I am 24 weeks pregnant, i did lose weight before getting pregnant but I was allowed to try to get pregnant while on blood pressure medication, they gave me metformin for the pcos.

I wish my doc would put me on something that would be safe for pregnancy.  At this point he doesn't want me to get pregnant for my health.  He thinks that I would be much better off if I lost weight, and took down my blood pressure naturally.

I just want to point out, that high blood pressure is not always associated with those that are overweight. I weigh 281 and have no signs of high blood pressure, but the girl I work with she weighs much less then me and has high blood pressure. Could your doctor maybe put you on another type of medicine that wont affect a pregnancy? I do agree with finding foods that help in lowing blood pressure, that would be a good idea and also to try to avoid the foods that raises it as well. Lemon water is great for those who want to drink water, but hate the fact that it's just so plain.

Thank you both. I was unaware that lemon helps raise your metabolism....I think I may have to go buy stock. :)

you should do some research on what kinds of food can lower blood pressure and raise it also. you may be able to change your diet and lower your blood pressure. the best and healthiest way to lose weight is to watch your fat calories and carbs, your workout should include some weight training and cardio (my husband is a personal trainer) also drinking lemon in your water helps raise metabolism. good luck
