Help!

A few years ago, when I had my first serious partner, I decided that I wanted to use some contraception that I didn't have to 'remember' to take!
He asked me a few questions, one of them being 'had I ever been pregnant'?
To which I replied 'either I'm lucky or infertile'.
He immediately detected PCOS.
He was right.

Anyway, I had the contraceptive injection for a year or so...
He told me I may need help to get pregnant if I ever decided to try...but within weeks of coming off the injection I fell pregnant!

Since the birth of my girl I had the copper IUD fitted.
I had the copper coil for roughly 5 years, fitted 9or so months after the birth of my little girl.
I had no problems with it what so ever, although my periods became loads heavier they also started to run like clock work :-)
I had it replaced in November 2009 and again, no problems.
Periods not SO heavy but running like clockwork ....

UNTIL 3 weeks ago!

I have done 2 pregnancy tests, both of which say negative.
Apart from my boobs getting a bit bigger I have no other 'signs' of pregnancy.
I didn't have 'signs' when I was pregnant before, so apart from missing my period (which is unusual) I'm not sure what to do.

I undertand that the chances of getting pregnant with a coil fitted are slim...but there is still that slight chance.
Even though I've had regular periods for years now, could this missed period be connected to PCOS?

I'd love to hear what you might have to say...
Thanks.

The spotting occured around the same time that my period was due...3weeks ago.
I did a test a couple of days ago, negative. I also did a test earlier on today, also negative.

how long ago was the spotting, if you're not too worried wait 14 days after the spotting and test again.

I have a copper coil because I don't like the idea of being pumped with hormones... mood swings!
I'm not overy worried, but I'm not 100% certain that I'm not pregnant.
When I was due to come on, I experienced what I've discovered is referred to as 'spotting'.
I thought it was my period, but it was for only half a dayish...brownish..
My periods tend to start with a 'warning' and then continue heavily for 5days.

If you are very worried call your doctor and have a blood test done. At least that will give you piece of mind. As far as your periods go, if you have an IUD with hormones it can have an effect on your cycle and periods can get lighter and sometimes go away completely.
