Hi,  I also have pcos i was diagnosed about 7 months ago, my husband and I have been ttc for almost 3 years.  Are you on metformin?  It regulates hormones and in some cases can help you get pregnant, it is not a fertility treatment so you should not have to wait a year.  You should see a reproductive endocrinologist they can put you on metformin.  As for natural help, I haven't tried that route yet due to medical problems but I am on a "pcos diet"  I am not overweight but your diet affects your hormones and if you are overweight losing might help too.
I'm sorry if your having a hard time with your diagnosis it can be tough especially when you add the stress of ttc.  If you need any support I am here, good luck!

I'm not sure about in the UK, but in the US metformin (also called glucophage) is only by prescription.  There is an herbal supplement called vitex or chaste tree berry that helps with the symptoms of pcos.  You are right pcos is genetic there is a 50% chance that your female family members have it too.  My sister has it also.
