do u have to get a period for clomid to work

I was wondering if u absolutely have to have a period to use clomid to make it work because I was taking it for 3 cycle with no period this cycle I did get a period will it work this time I am on 250 mg I am concerned that if my period was a factors then if it works can I end up with twins or more not that it matter the more the merrier I guess

I 2nd sherrycoup's post. I can't believe you are so high, & yes the higher the dosage the higher your chances of multiples. & just because you have a period doesn't mean you ovulated. Good luck. Keep us posted.

You should always have a period before starting your next round of clomid!!!!  If you dont get a period your doctor should be prescribing you Provera to bring on period.  Clomid is usually taken cd 3-7 or cd5-9.  cd1 is the first day of your period.
