A gallon of water a day is great. I read on one site that  you should fill two one-gallon containers with water every morning and put them in the fridge. Make a goal of finishing both before bedtime. Hope that helps :)

A gallon of water is way too much to drink,  unless you have some specific illness that requires you to drink that much water.

Excessive water drinking can lead to "water intoxication" or hyponatremia.  A severely depleted level of electrolytes.

A gallon and a half or water (6 liters) is considered a lethal amount of water to drink - but a gallon can give you severe symptoms.

Actually a gallon would be great we are supposed to have 8, 8oz glasses a day and that's 64oz of water which is met by drinking a gallon. Over drinking water can be bad but a gallon a day would not be over doing it.

8x 8 ounce glasses is about two liters or half a gallon . I wouldn't drink more than 3 liters a day although water is good for you in excess it's not plus all the things they put in water aren't actually good either . So I'd stick with about 3/4 of a gallon

Just looked online and said 4 liters ( which is a bit over a gallon ) is too much water unless you are an athlete so defiantly don't drink more than that

That much water will make you sick if you're not used to it. Athletes aim for at least one gallon a day. I would recommend drinking a certain amount based on your weight. I am for two liters a day but fall short regularly. I am very well hydrated and my urine is almost always clear, which can even be a sign of being too hydrated.

Italian mami yes you can... I'm pretty sure it's ecstasy that makes you really thirsty and countless people on it have ended up ' drowning' themselves in a sense of drinking too much water. Drinking too much water can have many bad results Google it

I drink 1 gallon of water a day. It keeps my body hydrated. And stops any chances of getting a uti.

I am 32 weeks and definetly have not been drinking a gallon of water . Maybe 40 oz a day, and yesterday at my us the doc said my amniotic fluid was excellent ! You don't need a gallon of water.
For me it's just not possible

Do not listen to anyone saying too much water is bad, especially just one gallon. I drink a few gallons a day and my doctor loves that!

Ignore that post above. If you think you don't drink enough water increase it by a glass extra a day every week to get your body used to it but don't increase it by a huge amount quickly because you could do some serious damage. Google it if you are worried and talk to a doctor but one gallon is heaps

That much water can actually probably hurt you more than help you. You also need to drink liquids that have both sodium and sugars in it to replenish those that the baby takes and so you do not get dehydrated. Like Gatorade or Vitiman Water were my saviors and still are. Even that much water can cause dehydration for not getting the main electrolights you need. I drink anywhere from 4-5 water bottles a day and will drink about 2 bottles of Gatorade or even have Ginger Ale. Water never quenched my thirst and would actually cause me to become more dehydrated in the long run.

Wow! I drink when I'm thirsty, guaranteed not nearly to any "recommended" volume. I pee plenty, I'm not dehydrated and all 4 of my pregnancies have had plenty of amniotic fluid. Don't get too hung up on pregnancy recommendations, they are just that and not going to be a one size fits all. If you or your baby needs something, your body will let you know...hence cravings :)
