6 days late.. tested negative twice

Hi everyone. I am 33 and have 2 girls ages 9 and 6. My last period was July 31st and my husband and i had sex on Aug. 12. I am now 6 days late. I took two pregnancy tests- one on the first day of my missed period (Aug.26) and one when I was 4 days late.  I still don't have my period and I haven't tested again. I am scheduled for my annual exam this afternoon.  I also started taking prenatal vitamins yesterday just in case. Do you think something will show on an internal ultrasound if I ask for one, plus of course ask them to do a pregnancy test.

Got the call. Blood test was negative. She said if my HCG levels were too low it wouldn't say negative but come back inconclusive then they would test my levels. So I am rescheduled for a mammogram for next Wednesday. Good luck to all of you ladies!

Just got back from getting blood work done again. The spotting was only this morning when I wiped. I keep feeling like I am getting my period but it's nothing but clear discharge. So I have to call and reschedule the mammogram as soon as I get the results from the blood work.

This is so frustrating. I just want a definitive answer... if I am not pregnant why am I not getting my period?

make sure you update us!!I'm wondering what going on with that. Maybe the spotting is just the start of a period.

AHH! I am now 2 weeks late and thought that I got my period this morning but I just spotted. I am confused. Calling the doctor now because I am not sure if I should go for the mammogram today.

Hi, I wish the best of luck to you on whatever is going on. I havent had my period since the June 15th, so Im going on 3 months, and hpts say negative, apparently this happens to people all the time

Blood tests are 100% correct.  You're probably not getting your period due to stress, hopefully it's not because of anything bad.  If you were pregnant, your blood test would have been positive.

Still no period and my nipples are sore and breasts are tender. What to do? I keep getting waves of nausea throughout the day. Should I spend the $$ and buy a HPT even though the blood test was negative?

Had the bloodwork this morning and I just called - it was negative. Not sure if I am upset about it or not. I would just like to know why my period is SO late. Scheduled the mammogram for next Wednesday (the 9th). Will let you all know!

Thanks for all of the replies! I had my appointment and they did a urine test.. of course negative. She did give me script for blood work. During my exam she felt a lump on my right breast so she wants me to get the blood work done tomorrow so that I can call to schedule a mammogram on both breast but a full diagnostic on the right. She wants to see what the blood work says before the mammogram - it being a radioactive test. So we shall see!

hey .. im in the same boat :( i had my last period on july 26th and had two negative urine tests already and didnt get any period this time round . i had unprotected sex b4 my period was supposed to come and also a few occasions the month before i missed . i am feeling most of the symptoms and my tummy and breasts are evidently getting bigger ..

i just feel like a fool any time i got to the doc . im now over a week late :(


please advise me :(

Well wait two weeks or til you miss your period again and do another blood test.

the only way that i have tested positive was through blood work.and i have 4 already

good luck.  I was 4 weeks late, then tested positive.  During the first 3 weeks of being late I took tons of tests.  All negative.  The 4th week I gave up and didn't test.  Then when I was about to miss peroid #2 I tested again.  positive.  I was having a lot of trouble with irregular peroid, so now I don't know how far along I am.  

Could they see anything that early on a scan??  Maybe they will do a bolld test.  
How do you feel??  Perhaps this is too nosey...  Discharge, cramping, queasy??
