Thanks so much for this encouraging news! I am just spotting with a little cramping here and there now. I'm feeling more positive. There was a very large portion of the placenta that wasn't even close to the SCH, so he did not seem concerned. Although he did say pelvic rest, he didn't say complete bedrest, but I have basically been doing that! Here's hoping in a week or two it's gone and my seemingly perfect pregnancy will return!
I to has a SCH around 8 1/2 weeks! I had just went for my ultrasound and everything was perfect! That night laying in bed I had a gush of blood and continued to bleed, went in the next day baby was perfect and they saw the SCH. She told me that it was the most common cause of bleeding in pregnancy and she had only seen one case where women m/c from it but that in that particular case the hemmorage surronded the whole gestation sac. Mine was on the opposite side of the baby and about a week later the bleeding stopped. She put me on complete bedrest and pelvic! 20 wks now and most recent u/s did not show anything! Praying everything turns out great and the bleeding stops!
Yours was more of a thyroid issue than an actual SCH issue for your miscarriage wasn't it? I can't remember. :(
I'm going to stick with my doctors suggestions and advice. He told me not to worry as this is very common and less than a 3% chance of miscarriage. Thats about the chance I had without it...so I'll stick with that. Weekly ultrasounds for a while.
i know you are only looking for the good outcome stories so I will not say mine. But just to let you know good chance they told you what side the SCH is (if not I would ask your doctor) if at anytime during your pregnancy you have any pain or discomfort on that side go straight to the ER or labour and delivery do not wait and see and demand an US to check on the SCH.
And when I say site I mean sure!
I had a horrible one! I started bleeding worse than a period, bright red and with clots. It lasted from week 5-10 and happened almost every single day all day long. My doctor said he had never not seen one heal on its own by the 20th week. I was told not to have sex until I hadn't bled for one week straight and had weekly appointments but was never put on bed rest. My daughter is now 3 1/2 and perfect! She is so smart she received a scholarship to her preschool! I don't believe they cause any developmental or physical problems at all. As scary as they are and as much of a waiting game I'm site you'll be fine.
So great to hear that news. Yes - pelvic rest and mild bed rest. i did not get on the computer yesterday after the ER, but did today. I didn't find anything that disturbed me, though. Thats a good thing!
Until next week, I'll take it easy. I had just started to let my guard down and began enjoying this pregnancy...just to have something this traumatic happen. I pray that it fixes itself and it was very reassuring to see my baby bouncing around today.
I had a SCH with Lexi. I bled from like 4.5 weeks to almost 9 or 10 weeks. It was always bright red and sometimes had clots. Idk if your OB told you, but anytime you have bleeding you have to be on pelvic rest. I started progesteron as it started dropping. By the time I was out of my first trimester it was gone and it never came back. I googled SCH after I was diagnosed with it and it was a mistake on my part. Lexi is now 4.5 months old and other than reflux and a milk allergy, she's perfect!
