Do my dogs know something I dont?!

So I'm 38wks today...last night I had fallen asleep but woke up because of horrendous heartburn, the acid had actually come up my throat so I was coughing pretty hard. I ended up being really sick with the coughing...anyway, I went and had some toast to try to get rid of the taste and went back to bed, when I got there though I started contracting, harsher than normal bh, pretty uncomfy, but bearable...while this was happening one of my dogs sat next to me and cried until I fell asleep. This morning he hasn't left my side and has been pawing at my tumny and licking my face. The weirdest thing is, he isn't 'my' dog, he has never chosen to be too close to me, he's a man's dog and much prefers my son and partner. 'My' dog on the other hand is avoiding me!

So my question....anyone think dogs can sense when labour is coming?

So weird.  My dog is my baby she's so spoiled and goes everywhere with me.  When I got pregnant last time with a miscsrrage she didn't wanna listen or be by me.  With this pregnancy its kinda weird.  I know she senses im pregnant . When my bff comes over its like that's her mom.  She listens to her,  she'll only go to her, shell beg her to take her potty or that she's hungry.  She doesn't really like to b around me.  My mom says its cause she knows im pregnant &its probably a girl that's why she doesn't like me right now.  When it's just us n my Hubby of course she's my baby again.  Just like now sleeping with momma in bed :) she's my first daughter lol. Chihuahua 10 pounds

Ha ya my dog sniffs my tummy a lot. Even when I wasnt far along he would sniff my belly. He has been my baby for the last year and a half so I think he has a big change coming to him here in the next 5 weeks. But he weighs in at 92LBS (42kilos)!!!! and still thinks he is a lap dog. Although his new thing lately is to try and bite the bottom of my belly not hard but he tries lol. I dont know why. Weird dog.

Thats cute!!! I love my puppy! My pup is over 65 lbs and we are best friends. He is very protective of me. My mama worries that he will be too jelous of my baby. I hope this isnt true.

I totally believe animals sense stuff. There are therapy dogs that sense when ppl are about to have seizures and they warn them so they can get to a safe place.

My daughter is all about mommy lately. She wants to hold my hand a lot. Or be in what's left of my lap. :)   I've got 10 days left til my c-section!

Kids and dogs eh?! Even one of my kids is pretty clingy today, I've had lots of cuddles and help with the washing...either he knows something is up or he wants a new xbox game!

Yeah mine was the same. Hes always been my baby. For the last month he didnt go more than a metre from me. Even laid at the shower door and sat between my legs on the toilet. They know somethings different. Although when i went into labour he was outside. Lol. So dont know what he woulda done. I got a couple of cute pics of him asleep with his head on my belly though.

I think dogs can tell something is up. My dog is my baby and here lately he will freak out if he cant find me and when I go to bed he either lays on my feet or at the foot of my bed and if anyone comes in my room he will growl a little and then lay on top of me. Hes become so ptotective lol.
