Horrible horrible stress!!!!!

So today I have been so stressed I just want to flipping scream.  My two (he'll be three in a month) year old has decided today is the day to make mommy rip her hair out.
So far today he has opened and dumped dumped an entire bottle of water on our couch, while I was in the kitchen getting him some milk.
it wasn't even barely past breakfast and he reached on our counters and grabbed candy I thought I had pushed far enough back (he's 40inches tall which is crazy for his age), and then he punched the crap out of me when I took it from him.
He's smeared poop on the living room walls while I made lunch.  Which he has NEVER even tried that before.
After lunch I told him no cartoons for the rest of the day so he screamed like I was beating him for 30 mins.
Then I turned on the t.v. To watch the news and he screamed the entire time.  I finally snapped, yelled at him, and smacked his butt.
He has NEVER acted like this for me!!!! I swear I just want to cry!  My bf gets home in 30 mins and I'm getting anxious like a kid waiting for christmas!!!

Aww c**p!! I'd forgotten about the random toddler behaviour! I really am starting over again! I will say that it does get better just try to stay consistent (easier said than done I know) do whatever you can to remain calm yourself, I eventually learnt that I usually ended up more upset than the kids and they didnt know what to do with themselves if I didnt fly off the handle (not that I became perfect and never shouted!) It is a phase which passes...honest!!

Better discipline is needed at most. If your kid can't take you seriously, that's how they feel more prime to be bratty. Just be assertive & visibly show it. It's best to make understand that whenever he acts up, there has to be a consequence for it. Coddling isn't going to work, it only makes them grow more spoiled. Use some reverse psychology.

Ya i agree with the full moon theory!(which is tomorrow) i took my daughter to the Dr today to get her checked over as she was so grumpy i thought for sure she was getting sick! and the Dr says her ears and throat are good... which is good cause its an extra long weekend and the Drs office isnt open till tuesday... next option is an hour and a half drive to sit in emerg in the city... so it was worth it to make sure she is okay but seriously?! she is throwing fits left and right, screaming and just is not herself at all!! and same she keeps throwing stuff too, and not really eating much either.... i dono lol its stressful! and yes i have those days where i count down to when daddy get home too!! hopefully tomorrow is better to ya!!

I know I said he usually don't act like that so is it possible he may be getting sick?  When my boys were coming down with a cold or something I knew because a day or two before they would act like the children of the devil.  Lol  sorry your having a rough day.  Remember he's two and him acting out is his way of trying to tell you something is off.  Take a deep breath.  Hope u have a better day.

Yea I usually let him go when he screams, but that on top of all the other stuff he pulled was enough.

Oh i remember when my daughter went through that stage!  I would always try to walk away, around a corner so i could see/hear her but she couldn't see me.  I would let her scream and throw things for about 10 min and then walk over to her and ask her if she was done.  Most of the time she would say yes and come and give me a hug.  I have only spanked her twice but it only made things worse and time out chairs were never affective.  I feel bad for you, it sounds like such a rough day.   Once he gets home give youself a few minutes of alone time to relax!

Yeaaa.  Time outs and all that stuff don't work.  And I do believe in spanking when he gets out of control.

My two year old has these episodes a lot ESP when I am doing something with or.for my 1 year.old. They don't know how to tell you what's wrong, just sit with him and tell him how.much you live him and how special he is to you and that it hurts your feelings when he acts this way. When he acts up just put him in a time out, don't spank or yell (I know its hard) just ignore him and put him somewhere away from TV toys and where he can't play with anything, (only for about 2 minutes) when he does something good reward him and praise him. He'll soon realize he gets more and better attention from being good.

Have you tried getting down to his level and hug him ask him what's wrong and give him kisses. That worked well with my son.

My 1 yr old is driving me crazy today too! I took him for a walk this morning to the bank and he went crazy in there screaming loud and running out the door. Than he took my wallet and threw it in the trash which was locked so the branch manager had to get the key and dig it out.
When we got home he was kicking and screaming wanting me to just walk around with him. He kept saying cracker but when id give him a cracker he throw it and get mad.
So i put him n the car and took him to the outlets to walk around. It was okay for 25 min because he fell asleep but all hell broke lose when he woke up. He took his shoes off and threw a fit and was hitting me. So i brought him home. Now were back at home and hes just super fussy and making me wanna pull my hair out. Errrr... wish it was nap time, i sure want one!!

Sorry you're having a rough day. Both of my boys go through these episodes and it's almost always when they're abou to pass a milestone or something big in their life has changed. He can probably sense things are about to change and is trying to communicate he still needs attention and such after the baby arrives.
