Laxatives in first tri

Hey, I haven't had a bowl movement in like a week and days and I eat everyday! Where is all that waste going? Am I allowed to take laxatives to let it out or will it affect my baby

Try mixing 4oz prune juice and 2oz milk of mag. Its called a brown cow it might taste really gross but it should produce a bm within 6-12 hours

I've had the same problem. I'm almost 11 weeks along. Before you try any medication I would try raisin bran or fiber one bars. They worked for me.  Hope you feel better!

I would talk to your dr before you take anytime, but mine said no laxatives but a stool softener would be okay (he recommended colace). Good luck hon, constipation is the worst!

My doc said milk of megnesia is good...! For those with chronic constipation, & it sounds like you fall in that category.. Speak 2 ur doc and see what he/she thinks.

I've been having the same problem, I'm 8 weeks along but the paper my doctor gave me for medicines that are safe during pregnancy says that for fiber/stool softner/constipation you can take metamucil, benefiber, colace, surfak and dulcolax. Hopefully one of those will work for you, I have found some relief with the dulcolax but my main problem is not being able to eat enough bc I always end up throwing my food up even with taking my zofran. Good luck I hope one of these works for you!

Talk to your doctor.  In the meantime, Benefiber and Metamucil are both really good stool softeners.
