My Experience with Home Pregnancy Tests( Think everyone should read)

I wanted to share my exprience with Home pregnancy tests, so you would all know not to panic if this happens to you. I have not been trying to get pregnant but a few days ago I noticed that my period was a day or 2 late. I didn't think so much about it because it's usually always a few days off track or early. I'm on the pill but I havn't been taking it correctly lately. I decided to buy a pregnancy test just to see. I went to the Dollar General Store and bought there brand of the First Response Tests. Two blue lines is a positive and one blue line is negative. I took the test and right away the line showed up in the control area and I noticed a light blue shadow of the line in the test area. Of course, I got nervous because I thought it was positive. I decided to take the 2nd test a few hours later. It did the exact same thing. I searched to see it it was possible to just be seeing the shadow of where the line would be if it was positive. The only thing I could find out was if there was a line at all then it was positive. I was still not convinced so I decided to go buy another brand that i was use too. The ept brand that Fred's sales. Right away it was negative. Well I knew it was possible to have a false negative but very rare to have a false positive. I decided to take another ept....right away negative. The next day I still hadn't started my period so I decided to get another test from the Dollar store (the first response) It did the EXACT same as the first time I took it. I knew these tests were the early pregnancy results so I really started thinking I was in fact pregnant and that the other brand tests just wasn't picking up enough because I would have just been a few weeks. I called my dr and he told me to come by his office. He did a test (ept) and it showed negative. Next day, STILL hadn't started. I just knew I was pregnant. I even took 2 more ept tests just to put my mind at ease and they were negative but the first response brand from the dollar store were the only ones showing positive. Turns out, I started yesterday and I'm clearly not pregnant. I dont know if this is just a default in these brands, because I know it wasn't evaporation lines because it showed up AS SOON as I took the test. I just wanted you all to know, if any of you used this brand.

I got two of those Clear blue digital tests a couple of days ago because i havent had a period for nine weeks now, they both said i was not pregnant. I really dont want any more children as i have suffered with really bad depression since having my youngest boy 18 months ago and he weighed a massive 11 lbs 15 ozs and traumatic birth. Could it be possible that i am infact not pregnant but as each day goes by its seeming more likely that i am my boobs are sore and i have a few more symtoms, i am really scared to do another test. Someone please help me find answers

I agree with the other girls, sounds like evap lines that you were seeing, blue dye tests are famous for this!! If you ever test again in the future I would recommend only pink dye tests or digitals. The First Response Early Result and the Digitals are my favorites.

Were you using First Response or the generic brand? Every First Response test I've ever taken has pink lines...

What you saw were EVAPORATION LINES....they do commonly happen with generic/cheap brands of HPT's
