I mean it gets your hopes up for nothing and that is wrong because it can be very stressful on women! I mean it was on me thinking I was pregnant and I was so happy and then I just got my hopes up for nothing its really hard I mean to me it felt like I lost a baby it was very sad and I cried for a long time over it and I wasn't even pregnant it's a horrible feeling!
The crazy thing is I cried over nothing that is the horrible thing of it to!
Dont mean to sound ignorent but I'm glad im not the only one getting the positive hpt but there should be something on there saying you could get a false positive!
I still haven't had the blood pressure medication picked up yet I just don't think I have it because I bought a cuff and it seems like its staying down now I took it tonight and it was 123/71 so that is good! Must of been all the stress
yeah I don't think I will buy the line test anymore!
But I wasn't pregnant I still don't understand why it showed up two lines because I did in fact start today and it ***** because the cramping is hurting pretty bad now!
Did you talk to your doctor about the fact you are ttc and whether the BP medicine that was prescribed can be taken safely while pregnant? There are different classes of drugs and some should not be taken while pregnant so its important to find something that works well for you now that is not in one of the "bad" classes.
One thing about your BP - see if you can get your home monitor calibrated. Many of the home monitors are notorious for giving incorrect numbers. You can pop into the doctors office and get it calibrated there to make sure that you are comparing oranges with oranges.
I can definitely see two lines on your test! I always liked the tests that say "pregnant" or "not pregnant" - sometimes you can get a false positive from an evaporation line on the line tests.
I've never put much faith in HPTs after a study I did in college. My science group decided to test the accuracy of hpts. Since I was the only virgin in the group I was the one that got to pee on all the sticks. Out of 4 different brands, I got 3 positives and 1 negative. The sheer fact that I had never even had sex yet in my life tells you how inaccurate these things really are.
i had 3 positve tests in march 08 the next day went had blood work done and theres was negative....that same night i started bleeding! dont know what happened! the tests were 2 dollar store tests and one clear blue digital!
I took a picture of the test to show people you can get a false reading on these its just a glitch in the test!
No she didnt give me any info just said neg!
I did take my test the other day at Kroger Parmacy and it was 145/99
but I took one last night I have a home wrist one I had bought yesterday
it was 125/71 so it came down!
dismorning it was 128/78 !
i had once positive pregnancy and tthen i was not pregnent:(((
it was 139/84
I finally had a heavy bleeding dismorning so I believe I have indeed started my period!
but I can tell you these pregnancy test do indeed lie!

how high was your BP? Did your doctor give you your HCG levels at all?
I haven't picked up my prescription yet!
no I just was really upset over the whole thing I did how ever find out my blood pressure is high and she put me on blood pressure medication so that is why I was so freaked out if I am pregnant would it hurt the baby and all that stuff but they told me blood test don't lie so I dont know !
your welcome - hopefully this hasnt opened too much of a Pandora's box for you!
A few possibilities I can think of:
1) You were/are in the process of having a chemical pregnancy
2) Your HCG level is below the threshold level that the doctors office considers pregnant, but you are pregnant. e.g. some offices consider any HCG level under 20 mIU to be "not pregnant" but sensitive tests can detect HCG at levels of 15 mIU which is normal for the very early stages of pregnancy
3) You had a false positive on the HPT
I think all you can really do is wait and see what happens. If you dont get your period within a week, retest and go from there (if its still positive, you will need to go back to the doctor)
